Objective
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE FOCUS 21 PROJECT IS TO MAKE MAXIMUM USE OF PASSIVE SOLAR ENERGY AND NATURAL DAYLIGHTING, AND TO UTILIZE ADVANCED CONTROL STRATEGIES FOR LIGHTING AND VENTILATION, ALL WITH A VIEW TO MINIMIZE THE USE OF AUXILIARY ENERGY FOR HEATING, VENTILATION AND LIGHTING. ACTIVE COOLING IS AVOIDED TOTALLY. THE OBJECTIVES WITH THIS EXTENSION OF THE CURRENT SOLAR HOUSE PROJECT IS TO ALLOW SELECTED ENERGY EXPERTS AND SCIENTISTS FROM BULGARIA TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FOCUS 21 PROJECT IN DENMARK, AND IN PARTICULAR TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE 0F THE ENERGY SAVING TECHNIQUES BEING USED IN THIS PROJECT. FURTHERMORE, THE OBJECTIVE IS TO TRANSFORM THE ENERGY SAVING TECHNIQUES TO A CASE STUDY PROJECT IN BULGARIA. THE GENERAL DESIGN STRATEGIES OF THE BULGARIAN FOCUS 21 PROJECT WILL BE SIMILAR TO THE ONES APPLIED IN DENMARK, BUT THE IMPLEMENTATION AND THE ENERGY SAVING TECHNIQUES APPLIED WILL BE ADAPTED TO BULGARIAN CONDITIONS REGARDING BUILDING TRADITIONS, ECONOMIC POSSIBILITIES AND THE CLIMATE OF BULGARIA: FINALLY, THE OBJECTIVE IS TO ALLOW DISSEMINATION OF RESULTS FROM THE EC SOLAR HOUSE PROJECT IN BULGARIA, AND IN PARTICULAR TO ALLOW DISSEMINATION OF RESULTS ADAPTED TO BULGARIAN CONDITIONS.
