Development of a PV-powered irrigation scheme for high value crops with integrated PV-system approach, especially adapted to stand alone applications

Objective

The main issue of the proposal consist in integration of the irrigation process (specific for different types of crops and climateric conditions) as a part of PV system to asure an optimal solution .
In this approach we intend to develop a full automatic control of irrigation process in which differents components of the controling system are supplied by dedicated PV sources.
Other issue of the proposal is to create a package of integrated PV irrigation modular systems able to mach a large number of applications. In this way, we intend to achieve a "general-use grind" in which, with easiness, every potential user to be able to identify its needs, the necessary equipment, the total costs and expected revenues.
For this State University of Targovisto will make the followings: - defining the technical characteristics for the PV integrated system adapted on some specific conditions
- elaborating of one irrigation scheme for automatic working - designing and realizing of PV sources for suppling of the equipments from controling systems (together with ICPF)
- development and testing of one full automatic irrigation pilot plant (together with FCT/UNL)
- analysis of the results; updating of the theoretical models and establishing of global designing methodology (with FCT/UNL)
- analysis of the concrete using potential of the PV integrated irrigation systems in the specific conditions of Romania and other countries from this geografical area
- establishing of the conditions for industrial integration of different components of the analysed irrigation system (with ICPF and FCT/UNL)
This proposal have two important objectives:
1.To develop an integrated PV irrigation modular system, specially adapted to isolated places
2.To increase the dissemination of such applications
The biggest importance of this proposal is introduction on large scale of using of renewable energy sources and this importance is in deap connection with the decisions of the European Parliament taken in 1993 concerning the increasing of research activities in this energy field.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
