Objective
COSYMA is a probabilistic accident consequence assessment system for use in calculating the risk posed by potential nuclear accidents giving releases to atmosphere.
It has been made available through the CEC to over 30 organisations. The system includes a number of data libraries for many of the calculational quantities required.
These libraries include gridded population and agricultural data for countries of Europe.
The gridded data for countries of the EC is contained on a fine resolution grid, while the data for other European countries is on a coarser resolution.
The attached proposal is to provide fine resolution, on a 5 x 5 km grid, for population, agricultural production, and land use data for Hungary in the required COSYMA format.
In addition, meteorological data for Hungary will also be provided. This will extend the applicability of the COSYMA code such that accident consequences may be estimated for Hungary.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
