Objective
In Hungary and Romania there is a large number of whole body and excretion measurements as well as measurements of activity
concentrations in foodstuffs available after the Chernobyl
accident. These data will be used to determine the biokinetics of important radionuclides (isotopes of strontium, caesium, and radium) by interpreting total body measurements of caesium
isotopes and by modelling the biokinetics according to
measurement results of ingested foodstuffs and of excreta,
mainly for isotopes of strontium and radium. Especially for
Cs-137 the age- and sex-dependance of biokinetic parameters
will be studied. These results will be used to revise the biokinetic models and to compare the results of such revised models with those of the current models and to get results on the reliability of dose coefficients. Additionally, there will be measurements of activity in the embryo to evaluate doses to the embryo
due to activity intake by the mother. The computer code of the Hungarian group will also be used for further intercomparison procedures with ISH, NRPB and TNO. -

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
