Studies on radiation-induced chromosome aberrations in mammalian cells: 2) Applied aspects

Objective

This proposal comprises studies on: low dose, low-dose rate radiation effects and the adaptive response. The three projects of the proposal extend, with their contributions, the scope of the original project. Infact the three participants in this proposal will study a) the nature and path way of the alarm signal, produced in response to the adapting dose, which triggers the presumed production of repair proteins b) the inter-individual variability in the adaptive response and the possible hereditary genetic basis c) the frequency of aberrations in occupationally exposed groups and the possible correlation with the adaptive response. It should be noted that there are several collaborative links in the three projects and complementarity in the materials and methods that will be used.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
