Objective
The main goal of this project is to study the molecules of atmospherical and astrophysical interest in collaboration with laboratories throughout Europe. We would like to collaborate with four laboratories in France, Germany and Spain. In two of them (LSH'and UNIKI) the experimental part of the project will be carried out, the other two will be consulted in the theoretical considerations (LPMA and IEMQT). This collaboration will also serve as a method to develop the scientific qualifications of young researchers from Poznan. There are 5 participants in the project and three of them are the postdoctoral students. one of them (W.L.) has just presented his Ph- D. thesis in June 1993.
The Molecular Spectroscopy Group in the Faculty of Chemistry of the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan has extensive experience in developing the theory of rovibrational spectra of floppy molecules. This group also carries out a considerable expertise in computational techniques, in computer aided assignments of high resolution infrared spectra and in numerical methods.
The theoretical methods should be tested in assignment of experimental spectra. There is experience of successful prior collaboration with the groups in Kiel and Lille. These contacts can n0W be extended and younger scientists from poznan will be involved. The recording of the spectra of three different floppy molecules, methylamine, hydrazine and deuterium peroxide, will be possible within the presented project. Part of the experimental work will be done on a Fourier transform spectrometer in Poznan, which should be additionally equipped for recording the high resolution infrared spectra in the gas phase.
The analysis of the rotational and rovibrational spectra of methylamine, hydrazine and deuterium peroxide should result in better understanding of the complicated dynamics of these molecules, providing more accurate structures and potential surfaces. The experimental studies will also fill the gaps in spectroscopic information available for these molecules. This is particularly important in the case of methylamine which is a molecule of astrophysical interest
The results of the research will be published in international journals on molecular spectroscopy and chemical physics.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
