Objective

1 . PROJECT RATED N°1 BY THE COORDINATOR .

Prof. T. SOOMERE wants to study "The spectral evolution of Rossby wave system".
Prof.T. SOOMERE did extensive theoretical studies of Rossby waves, and proposes to check experimentally those results.
The dirnensions of the platform allow such experiments and that would be an interesting contribution to that area for such a filtering of the waves would most certainly occur in nature.

cost : 36.500 ECUS for potential user = 1
17.500 ECUS for large instrument
5.000 ECUS TOTAL

2. PROJECT RATED No 2 BY THE COORDINATOR.

Prof. A. TOOMPUU would like to study the diffusion effect of rotationally anisotropic turbulence on the field of passive substance concentration such a study would be both interesting and useful to understand Gibraltar salinity anomaly in the North Atlantic ocean.

cost: 70.000 ECUS for potential user = 2
31.500 ECUS for large instrument
101.500 ECUS TOTAL
