ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY AIRLESS TUMBLE DRYING WITH HOT WATER PRODUCTION INSTEAD OF TUMBLE DRYING WITH HOT AIR EXHAUSTION

Objective

The aim of the project is to demonstrate the substantial energy savings made possible by the use of the new, airless tumble dryer in the laundry and textile industries to recover the energy contained in the water vapour produced by the drying process to provide the supply of hot water required for the washing process.
Test results show achievement of planned performance.
The project involves design, manufacture and testing of two natural gas fired indirectly heated 23 kg dry weight capacity tumble dryers to achieve the aims of the project.
