Objective
The demonstration consists of separating the hydrocarbons and the water by deemulsification on rotative filter pre-layered with wood dust.
The filtering layer presents a sufficient calorific capacity to be burnt without energy supply. The hydrocarbon fraction is valorized in the form of a type LCO gasoil.
The demonstration covers the treatment of 3500 tons of oil sludges in the Refinery of Feyzin over a period of one year.
Phase 1 - Construction
Following an update of the data, the unit will be built and assembled at the workshops of Vernay on three platforms that can be transported by road (feedstock preparation unit, filtering unit, decanting unit).
Phase 2 - Start-up
The platforms will be connected to the refinery utilities and tests will be run for the powder supply calibration (in bags or bulk), the vacuum, the manufacture of prelayer, the decanting control, etc...
Phase 3 - Demonstration management
This phase consists in proving that oily sludges can be broken down, that the oil can be valorized, that the water can be recycles, that the cacke can constitute a make-up fuel.
Phase 4 - Exploitation of results
This phase will consist in the elaboration of matter and energetic balances and in the correlation between the auality of products, the operating conditions and the nature of the layers.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
