Objective
To demonstrate the economical and energetic interest of a combined transport system called Traminco which can operate either on road or rail. This system will lead the goods traffic back to the railway, when it is principally dispatched per road at present.
On road, the system works as an articulated trailer; on rail it becomes a wagon. In both cases the same chassis is used thanks to mechanism folding back the road axles and special bogies. It is proposed to test 6 systems conveying 20000 T/yr over 1000 km (970 km by rail). Innovative aspects: the flexibility of the system.
