EMMA is creating an environmental monitoring, forecasting and warning system in respect of air quality for local administrators and the General Public.
An innovative sensor which measures the quality of air/wind vector will be made commercially available world-wide. Software tools will help to plan infrastructures in order to improve and to maintain the quality of air. EMMA Web Server will record and distribute data on air quality and is targeting all the larger cities in Europe (more than 250.000 inhabitants - Air Quality Frame Directive 96/62). The work was carried out in Genoa, Leicester, Madrid and Stockholm.
