Objective
THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO CONTINUE THE TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT OF WORK PURSUED WITHIN ANGLO-DANISH BATTERY PROJECT.
THE AIM IS TO DEVELOP A METHOD OF CONTINUOUS FABRICATION OF AN ELECTRODE/ELECTROLYTE SANDWICH FOR BATTERY MODULES WHICH ENABLES IMPROVEMENT ON PERFORMANCE ESSENTIAL FOR SCALE UP OF PRESENT LABORATORY CELLS. THESE IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING NOVEL BIPOLAR MULTICELL DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AIMS AT A PROVISION OF GREATER INCENTIVE TO INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATION TO SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATE IN A FUTUR SCALE-UP-PROGRAMME.
A rechargeable, thin film, all solid state battery has been developed which uses a lithium based polymer electrolyte.
THIS PART OF THE PROJECT INCLUDES :
A) THE CONSTRUCTION AND CYCLING OF MULTICELL CONFIGURATIONS
B) THE EFFECT OF OVERCHARGE AND OVERDESCHARGEM SELF DESCHARGE MEASUREMENTS
C) THERMAL MANAGEMENTVIA COMPUTER MODELLING
D) THE IMPROVEMENT OF CATHODE PERFORMANCE WITH CYCLING INCLUDING DETAILED STUDIES OF MICROSTRUCTURAL INFLUENCES ON CAPACITY RETENTION
E) EVALUATION OF CELL PERFORMANCEAT LOWER TEMPERATURE INITIALLY IN THE RANGE 75-100 CELSIUS DEGREES.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
