DEVELOPMENT OF ADVANCED HEAT TRANSFER COMPONENTS FOR HEAT RECOVERY FROM HOT WASTE GASES.

Objective

THE RD WORK COMPRISES TWO WORK PACKAGES:

- DEVELOP OPTIMISED FLOW SEPARATORS TO OBTAIN ECONOMIC HIGH PERFORMANCE HEAT TRANFER ELEMENTS FOR HEAT RECOVERY DEVICES, ESPECIALLY AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES (FLUE GAS TEMPERATURE UP TO 500 CELSIUS DEGREES)

- INVESTIGATE AFTER OPERATING TEMPERATURE LIMIT OF NAPHTALENE AND DIPHENYL STEEL THERMOSYPHON.
Development and investigation of flow separators to separate the counter current liquid and vapour flows in a closed 2-phase thermosyphon have been carried out. The goals to achieve are high heat transport capability and, at the same time, high effective thermal conductance. Two different separator designs, denominated perforated tube separator and crossover separator, have been extensively examined, and optimised designs have been developed.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
