KINETICS AND MECHANISM OF ELEMENTARY CHEMICAL PROCESSES OF IMPORTANCE IN COMBUSTION.

Objective

TO CO-ORDINATE RESEARCH IN THE AREA OF CHEMICAL KINETICS FOR COMBUSTION RESEARCH. TO DETERMINE KINETIC DATA FOR COMBUSTION MODELLING AND DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH. SPECIFIC AREAS TO COVER SOOT ARE FORMATION, OXIDATION AND PYROLYSIS OF ALL TYPES OF HYDROCARBONS AND FUEL NITROGEN CHEMISTRY.

ACTIVITIES WHICH WILL BE CO-ORDINATED UNDER THIS PROGRAMME FALL UNDER TWO GENERAL HEADINGS:

- PROVISION OF KINETICS DATA FOR COMBUSTION MODELLING AND DIAGNOSTICS INTERPRETATION

- ACQUISITION OF KINETICS DATA FOR ELEMENTARY RATES, PROCESSES AND MECHANISMS FOR MODELLING COMBUSTION PROCESSES.

CO-ORDINATION WILL BE ACHIEVED THROUGH A TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHAIRED BY THE CO-ORDINATOR. THIS WILL EFFECT LIAISON BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT AREAS IN THE OVERALL CO-OPERATION, TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM AND SEVERAL VISITS OF THE 14 SEPARATE PROJECTS IN 11 UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER INSTITUTES.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
