Objective
THE AIM OF THIS STUDY IS TO PRESENT A DETAILED AND QUANTIFIED DESCRIPTION (BOTH THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL) OF THE SET OF POSSIBILITIES FOR SOLID ADSORPTION CYCLES, WITH A PRECISE INVENTORY OF THE FIELDS OF APPLICATION.
AMONG THE POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS CONSIDERED ARE:
- AIR-CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION; DRYING; LYOPHILISATION; ETC... WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION BEING PAID TO CYCLES PERMITTING THE COMBINED PRODUCTION OF HEAT AND COLD.
THE DESCRIPTION OF APPLICATIONS THAT APPEAR TECHNICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY INTERESTING WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A LIST OF THE SOLUTIONS ENVISAGED AND THE AUTHORS ' RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE STATED.
THE TECHNICO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS WILL COMPARE THE BEST APPLICATIONS FOUND FOR THIS METHOD WITH THE CONVENTIONAL SOLUTIONS CORRESPONDING TO THE STATE OF THE ART.
THE PAIRS STUDIED WILL BE FIRSTLY ZEOLITE-WATER AND ACTIVATED CARBON-METHANOL. HOWEVER, A PROSPECTIVE STUDY WILL BE CARRIED OUT FOR OTHER FLUIDS (AMMONIA FOR EXAMPLE) FROM THE THEORETICAL STANDPOINT, IN ORDER TO TRY TO EXTEND THE TEMPERATURE RANGE TOWARDS LOWER TEMPERATURES. EXPECTED ENERGY SAVINGS RESULT FROM:
- EXPECTED EFFICIENCY
- LEVEL OF UTILIZATION OF THE HEAT PRODUCED (IN THE CASE OF BOTH HEAT PUMPS AND HEAT EXCHANGERS).
PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO CYCLES PERMITTING THE COMBINED PRODUCTION OF USEFUL COLD (BETWEEN 10 CELSIUS DEGREES BELOW ZERO AND ZERO CELSIUS DEGREE.) AND USEFUL HEAT (OVER 70 CELSIUS DEGREES AND UP TO 120 CELSIUS DEGREES).
THE PROGRAMME IS IN THREE PARTS:
- DYNAMIC STUDY OF HIGH-EFFICIENCY CASCADE CYCLES.
- STUDY AND OPTIMIZATION OF COMPONENTS.
- THERMODYNAMIC AND TECHNICO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS FOR THESE CYCLES.
IN THE COURSE OF THIS PROGRAMME, TESTS WILL BE CARRIED OUT ON PILOT HEAT PUMP UNITS AT THE CNRS AND EVAPORATORS AND CONDENSERS AT THE CETIAT. THE POWER OF THESE UNITS IS 10 AND 16 KW RESPECTIVELY. MEASUREMENTS ON TEST MODULES, FOR THE STUDY OF TRANSFER PROPERTIES, WILL BE EFFECTED BY THE CNRS AND UTC. THE CNR WILL DEFINE THE NATURAL ZEOLITES. MATHEMATICAL SIMULATION WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY THE CNRS AND UTC AND TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS BY BLM.
