Objetivo THE PROTOTYPE WHICH IT IS PLANNED TO DEVELOP IS BASED ON THE IDEA OF USING A RANKINE CYCLE AS DRIVE FOR A STANDARD COOLING CYCLE. THE GENERATOR FOR THIS DRIVE CYCLE IS FED WITH GAS FUELS AND, OPTIONALLY, WITH SOLAR ENERGY. THE WORK OF EXPANSION OF THE FREON WHICH HAS BEEN EVAPORATED IS USED TO DRIVE THE COOLING CYCLE COMPRESSOR, AND THE HEAT EXHAUSTED IN THE CONDENSER UNITS IS USED AS USEFUL HEAT. THE REVERSAL OF THE HEAT PUMP CYCLE IS USED TO SUPPLY AIR CONDITIONING. THE SYSTEM USES TWO HEAT SOURCES, ONE AT HIGH TEMPERATURE (GAS) AND ANOTHER AT LOW TEMPERATURE (OUTSIDE AIR), SO AS TO PRODUCE HEAT AT AN INTERMEDIATE TEMPERATURE FOR USE IN THE SPACE WHICH IT IS PROPOSED TO AIR-CONDITION. THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HEAT PUMP LIKE THE ONE IT IS PLANNED TO BUILD WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING CONSEQUENCES: - ENERGY SAVING: SAVINGS OF 20 - 40% CAN BE OBTAINED IN THE CONSUMPTION OF PRESENT APPARATUS USING GAS FOR HEATING OR WATER HEATING PROCESSES. - THE OPENING UP OF NEW MARKETS FOR GASEOUS FUELS.
