PULSE POWER TECHNIQUES FOR FLUE GAS TREATMENT.

Objective

THE AIM OF THE RESEARCH IS TO VERIFY THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PULSE GENERATORS IN PRECIPITATING AND REMOVING SOLID PARTICULATES,AS WELL AS,BY ENERGIZING,THE SULPHUR AND NITROGEN OXIDES,CONTAINED IN COMBUSTION GASES IN COAL-FIRED POWER STATIONS.

THE RESEARCH WILL BE PERFORMED IN THE CONTEXT OF STUDIES OF TECHNOLOGIES AIMED AT REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF THERMAL POWER STATIONS.

IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE RESEARCH WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING RESULTS :

A) REDUCTION IN THE SIZE OF ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATORS FOR AN EQUIVALENT CLEAN-UP EFFICIENCY;

B) OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY TO COPE WITH VARIATIONS IN THE PROPERTIES OF THE COAL USED;

C) ENERGY SAVING;

D) SIMULTANEOUS PRECIPITATION OF THE SULPHUR AND NITROGEN OXIDES BY PULSE ENERGIZING.

ELECTRICITY GENERATING BOARDS AND COMPANIES WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE ANTICIPATED RESULTS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW POWER STATIONS AND IN RETROFITTING EXISTING PLANT.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
