USE AND DEMONSTRATION OF THE ENERGY MODELS DEVELOPED FOR BELGIUM

Objective

THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO PLACE AT THE EEC PROGRAMME'S DISPOSAL THE EXPERIENCE IN ENERGY MODELLING OBTAINED IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE BELGIAN NATIONAL PROGRAMME. THIS INCLUDES :

-THE VALIDATION AND EXPLOITATION OF THE BELGIAN ENERGY MODELS
-A CONTRIBUTION TO THE DESIGN OF NEW MODELS FORESEEN BY THE EEC
-THE SUPPORT OF THE DESIGN OF CASE-STUDIES FOR THE EEC GROUP
-THE DEMONSTRATIONS OF CASE-STUDIES ON THE BELGIAN MODELS.

PHASE I

1.TRANSFERT OF THE MIDAS-MODEL ON THE SPPS COMPUTER, VALIDATION OF THE MODEL AND CASE-STUDIES.
2.ENERGY FORECASTS FOR BELGIUM : DEFINITION OF SCENARIOS (USING THE DEMAND MODELS (HERMES, MIDAS, STEM, MEDEE) AND THE SUPPLY MODELS (EFOM) ), COMPLEMENTARY SIMULATIONS USING THE MODELS DEVELOPED BY THE NATIONAL R&D ENERGY PROGRAMME, ANALYSIS OF RESULTS.
3.ASSISTANCE TO THE CENTRAL GROUP FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE EFOM-MARK II MODEL,ESPECIALLY FOR THE MORE DETAILED MODELLING OF THE ENERGY SECTORS.
4.FEASIBILITY OF THE LINKAGE OF THE HERMES AND MIDAS MODELS.

PHASE II

5.COMPLEMENTARY DEVELOPMENTS OF THE MEDEE MODEL
-CONTRIBUTION TO THE CONCEPTION OF THE "TRANSPORT" MODULE OF THE MODULAR MEDEE-MODEL.
-CONTRIBUTION OF THE CONCEPTION OF THE CENTRAL BLOC OF THE MODULAR MEDEE-MODEL.
6.CASE-STUDIES
7.USE OF THE EXISTING MODELS FOR THE EVALUATION OF RUE-INDICATORS.
