ENERGY STREAMS.

Objective

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROPOSAL IS TO MEASURE MICRO AND MACRO ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF ENERGY POLICIES IN THE INDUSTRY ACTIVITIES. IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE ANALYSIS WILL CONCERN ENERGY USES IN BOILERS (STEAM OR HOT WATER).

THE INNOVATIONS THAT REPRESENTS THIS RESEARCH ARE :
- A DESCRIPTION OF ENERGY STREAMS,
- A DETAILED MARKET ANALYSIS OF BOILERS'EQUIPMENTS,
- A MICRO-ECONOMIC APPROACH BASED ON INPUT/OUTPUT TABLES OF SOEC IN ORDER TO MEASURE INDIRECT EFFECTS.
The first major task to be performed was to develop a theoretical concept as a prerequisite for the establishment of energy stream analyses.
This concept has to deal with the following different levels:
processes (example steam boiler);
products (example pulp);
energy balance;
energy input output balance;
energy part of input output system;
input output system and employment.
In order to illustrate the concept, the example of steam boilers in the pulp and paper industry was selected and a superficial market study survey for steam boilers was performed.
1) MARKET ANALYSIS FOR BOILERS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT :
THE PRESENT AND FUTURE MARKET SITUATION IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY HAS TO BE ANALYSED AND REPORTED.

2) CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT :
THE APPROACH TO BE USED WILL PUT EMPHASIS ON THE QUESTION OF HOW TO FIX DIFFERENT DATA IN DIFFERENT SEGMENTS OF THE INPUT-OUTPUT TABLE, THE PRODUCT TABLE, THE ENERGY DEMAND AND ENERGY SUPPLY TABLES IN ORDER TO CALCULATE THE IMPACTS ON MACRO AND SECTORAL ECONOMY, ENERGY AND EMPLOYMENT.

3) DEMONSTRATION OF THE APPROACH USING AN EXAMPLE OUT OF THE FIELD OF ENERGY PRODUCING EQUIPMENT. SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
