FAMILIES OF ENERGY PRODUCING EQUIPMENT IN FRANCE

Objective

THE "FAMILY" APPROACH IS ORIGINAL IN THAT IT PROVIDES INDUSTRIAL INFORMATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH ENERGY POLICIES. THIS DIMENSION IS USEFUL IN DEFINING ENERGY POLICIES THAT GO HAND IN HAND WITH INDUSTRIAL POLICIES. MOREOVER, IT ENABLES IMPACTS TO BE MEASURED IN TERMS OF INDUSTRIAL MARKETS ON A BODY OF EQUIPMENT - IN THIS CASE BOILERS - WHICH REPRESENTS 70% OF THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE "INDUSTRIAL" SECTOR.
Boiler usage between the years 1983 and 2000 has been economically evaluated, with the results being extrapolated to give possible values for the year 2010.

The global scenario corresponds to the installation of 11,139 boilers between 1986 and 2000, including 10,872 with an energy market. The breakdown with respect to energy type is 48 % gas boilers, 45 % oil, 5 % electricity and 2 % coal. The energy consumption of 10,872 boilers by the year 2000 will be around 7.0 Mtep.
THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF CALCULATING THE DIRECT AND INDIRECT ECONOMIC EFFECTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENTRY ON TO THE MARKET OF VARIOUS TYPES OF INDUSTRIAL HEAT-GENERATING BOILER. THESE EFFECTS WILL BE ASSESSED WITH THE HELP OF INPUT-OUTPUT TABLES. VARIANTS ABOUT A CENTRAL SCENARIO WOULD ENABLE THE IMPACTS OF ENERGY POLICIES IN FAVOUR OF GAS OR COAL TO BE MEASURED.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
