Objective
THE PROPOSED RESEARCH IS HIGHLY ORIGINAL AND REPRESENTS A SCIENTIFIC INNOVATION SINCE IT CONCERNS A SUBJECT ON WHICH VERY LITTLE HAS BEEN DONE IN THE WAY OF METHODOLOGY AND ANALYSIS, I E THE INTERNAL ENERGY MARKET. FORMALIZATION IN THIS FIELD HAS NOT YET BEEN STARTED AND THE RESEARCH THEREFORE REPRESENTS CONSIDERABLE PROGRESS. THAT IS WHY DG XII AND ALSO DG XVII AND DG II WILL INCORPORATE THE RESEARCH RESULTS IN THEIR CURRENT EVALUATIONS OF THE COMPLETION OF THE INTERNAL MARKET.
THE RESEARCH CONSISTS OF DEVELOPING ANALYTICAL TOOLS ON THE COMPLETION OF THE INTERNAL MARKET FOR ENERGY (GAS AND ELECTRICITY) AND TO CARRY OUT ANALYSES WITH THE AID OF THESE TOOLS. THE RESEARCH IS IN FOUR PARTS:
1.- ANALYSIS OF ELECTRICITY AND GAS PRICE CHANGES AS A FUNCTION OF THE SIZE OF THE MARKET.
2.- CONSTRUCTION OF A REDUCED MODEL FOR THE ELECTRICITY SECTOR
3.- CONSTRUCTION OF A REDUCED MODEL FOR THE GAS SECTOR
4.- MODEL SIMULATION (CASE STUDIES).
