EUROPEAN CONCERTED ACTION PROGRAMME ON DAYLIGHTING.

Objective

A THREE-YEAR CONCERTED ACTION PROGRAMME ON THE USE OF NATURAL LIGHT IN OFFICE BUILDINGS IS PRESENTED. SIX RESEARCH GROUPS OF FIVE COUNTRIES ARE INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAMME. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME IS THE PROMOTION OF THE USE OF DAYLIGHTING CONCEPTS AND MATERIALS BY DESIGNERS, PARTICULARLY AS FAR AS OFFICE AND SCHOOLS BUILDING ARE CONCERNED.

THE PROGRAMME HAS BEEN DEFINED ON THE BASIS OF AN ASSESSMENT STUDY, WHERE RESEARCH AREAS, TECHNIQUES AND PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED, AND PRIORITIES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED, WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK AND LIMITATIONS SET BY THE COMMISSION.

RESEARCH ACTIONS HAVE, THEN, BE ASSIGNED TO THE VARIOUS GROUPS, TOGETHER WITH THE CORRESPONDING FUNDS.
THE EXPECTED PRODUCTS OF THE PROGRAMME ARE:
1. A "EUROPEAN DAYLIGHTING REFERENCE BOOK";
2. A DAYLIGHTING DATA-BASE FOR SIGNIFICANT EUROPEAN LOCATIONS;
3. COMPUTER CODES AND DESIGN TOOLS.
