Objective
The main objectives of the project are:
1) Improve efficiency and competitiveness of industrial processes in EU.
2) Reduce the energy consumption and emissions of harmful compounds from industry.
They will be achieved by:
1) development and commercialisation of the CONRAD-system.
2) effective dissemination and exploitation of the results by demonstration of the system in industrial applications.
The CONRAD -system is a highly efficient and low-polluting system (NOx, CO) for industrial processes. The system is a confined, premix, gas-fired radiant burner with recuperation, i.e. the combustion air is preheated by heat exchange with the flue gas. In order to collect the flue gases, a quartz plate covers the burner. The burner system will be integrated in process equipment for selected applications. The developed process equipment will be demonstrated at four end-users.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
