Objective
The objective of the ADECO project is to develop an advanced demand controlled hybrid ventilation concept. The concept is based on Purpose provided active controlled ventilation openings in the facade coupled with a fan assisted ventilation exhaust. Heart of the concept is an advanced control unit using different types of sensors (indoor air parameters, pressure difference and temperature). Mechanical and natural forces are combined in a two-mode system where mechanical forces are only used when necessary. This leads to an optimum between energy use for ventilation, including fan energy, indoor air quality and thermal comfort. The application field is all types of (new) residential buildings and retrofitting ventilation systems in existing buildings. Expected energy saving within EU is approximately 12 PJ/year for new residential buildings and 60 PJ for existing residential buildings. Expected market penetration is 25% for new buildings up to 40% on the longer term.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
