A biomass gasification combined heat and power [chp] sheme for the production of up to 100 kwe and 250 kwth.

Objective

Biomass Eng. Ltd.'s objective is to demonstrate economically viable small-scale biomass gasification CHP system. Current small-scale systems are expensive and gas clean up is expensive, due to high levels of tars and particulates. Biomass Engineering Ltd., is seeking partners to be involved in a project with the following deliverables:
- Optimise a biomass gasification system with high availability (above 95%) with improved heat recovery and power generation using the best available gas engine and filtration with detailed process integration.
- Optimise a filtration system solely to remove particulates. Biomass Engineering Ltd. has demonstrated a tar content in the raw gas of less than 12 mg/Nm3, particulates 47 mg/Nm3.
- Minimise emissions and comply with EU legislation by using by-products within the gasification system. Char will be used for wastewater cleaning. Treated water will be discharged to foul sewer and residual has returned to the land.
