Calendar life mastering of li-ion accumulator - (CAMELIA)

Objective

The challenging objective for the project is to develop new materials for lithium-ion batteries, to improve calendar life duration to more than 10 years, one of the very critical issues for a widespread development of this technology. These materials will be used for batteries in stand-by applications, as well as for hybrid vehicle batteries, and for 42-V batteries of automotive systems. This objective will be achieved together with two other issues, which provide a battery price lower than 175 EUR/kWh or 23 EUR/kW and a safe electrochemistry. Technical and cost specifications are targeted for each new material to be developed in the framework of this project in order to reach these goals.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
