Objective
Learners of languages want to be independent, but they do not want to be left totally alone. The demand for user-friendly self-study materials and services has not yet been met. The FORUM project has been designed to develop these materials and services using the flexibility that telematics allows. Courses will be developed in English, Finnish, French, German, Greek and Italian. Around 1000 language learners across Europe will participate. These learners represent key user groups: independent learners (working from home for reasons of distance, handicap or preference); university students; employers and employees in large companies as well as in SMEs; training/learning professionals in the languages field, including educational institutions.
