Electronic Learning Environment for Continual Training and Research.
ELECTRA is an umbrella project that encompasses ten applications and services aiming to build a foundation for the use of telematics technologies for education and training. This is a blueprint for setting up virtual university for lifelong learning. A consortium including 4 universities from 3 countries will develop 8 educational applications and 2 support tools. The tools incorporate multimedia, running on a hybrid infrastructure (CATV/ISDN/ATM) for teachers, trainers and students in tertiary education and vocational training.
