PALYNOLOGIE AND CLIMATE

Objective

POLLEN ANALYSES HAVE BEEN MADE TO RECONSTRUCT PAST CLIMATES BECAUSE THEY REFLECT THE NATURE OF VEGETATION AND HENCE CLIMATE. A TRANSFER FUNCTION BETWEEN POLLEN SPECTRA AND THE PRESENT CLIMATE HAS BEEN DETERMINED; THE CLIMATIC PARAMETERES WERE PROVIDED BY THE METEROLOGICAL SERVICE.

THE POLLEN SPECTRA FROM THE PERIOD 18000 BP WILL BE PROCESSED TO DERIVE PROPOSED CLIMATIC CORRESPONDANCES IN TERMS OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY.

THE POLLEN DATA ARE TO BE PRESENTED IN THE FORM OF A FREQUENCY TABLE AND A FACTORIAL ANALYSIS OF CORRESPONDENCES MADE BY TAKING INTO ACCOUNT OTHER FACTORS SUCH AS PALAES-SAMPLES. ANALOGIES WILL BE ESTABLISHED AND THE CLIMATE OF PALAES-SAMPLES DETERMINED BY MEANS OF REGRESSIONS.
