A QUANTITATIVE STUDY ORGANONITROGEN AND SULPHUR ATMOSPHERIC TRANSFORMATIONS

Objective

TO INVESTIGATE SOME ASPECTS OF THE SULPHUR AND NITROGEN CYCLES.

THE RESEARCH PROJECTS STUDIES THE IMPORTANT TROPOSPHERIC REACTION PATHWAYS FOR REDUCED SULPHUR COMPOUNDS AND ALKYL, PEROXY ACYL NITRATES BY MEANS OF LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS.

AN ALREADY WELL-DEVELOPED EQUIPMENT IS USED, WHICH IS AVAILABLE AT THE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN AND RISO NATIONAL LABORATORY OF DENMARK : FOURIER TRANSFORM INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY AND GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY - MASS SPECTROMETRY (UNIVERSITY COLLEGE) TOGETHER PULSED RADIOLYSIS WITH KINETIC ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY (RISO NATIONAL LABORATORY).
