Impact of large landslides in the mountain environment : identification and mitigation of risk (IMIRILAND)

Objective

The project focuses on aspects of management of risk in the case of large landslides, in its scientific, technical and and-planning aspects. Ten large landslide sites have been selected in the countries involved in the project where, geological, geomechanical and monitoring data already exist. These data, after a suitable organisation, are the basis for the following phases of the project. New methods or new applications of the existing methods are worked out in order to obtain the scenarios of the landslides evolution. Reference is made to geological, numerical, statistical and neural network based methods. Then the developed methodologies are applied to the management of the endangered landslide zones. Actions for risk mitigation are proposed on the basis of risk assessment and the legal and economical frameworks. Dissemination of risk management methodologies among the users is a major task of the project.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
