Objective
The objective of the EUFOREO Thematic Network (TN) is to establish a European Forum among the major Space Agencies, Research Centres, Service providers, Manufacturers and Users at national and European levels. The purpose is to develop the case for the efficient implementation of EU and national policies for Environment and Security (including Internal Treaties), through the use of Earth Observation (EO). It will support the GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) initiative. The EUFOREO TN will operate over 18 months through 3 phases; Preparation, Technical Fora and Outline Definition. Networking will be achieved by means of meetings, workshops, a web site and email. Main results: updating of users needs; consensus on EO use; implementation steps toward a EU monitoring capability
