Objective
The PHEFRA workshop will bring together scientific experts with an interest in using palaeoflood and historical flood evidence to extend the record of extreme flood events, and it will be an appropriate forum for critical discussions of methodological issues. The technical sessions will disseminate results obtained by ongoing EU RTD projects corresponding to the 5th Framework Programme as well as previous national and international projects. The workshop will comprise 2.5 days of technical sessions and 1.5 days of field visits to relevant historical and palaeoflood sites. Technical sessions will be comprised of invited keynote speakers, whereas external contributions will be presented in poster format. A stand with on-hand demonstrations on statistical software and GIS applications will be installed.
