Objective
The aim is the development of a new type of UV-reactor. The innovative step is the production of a new photo-catalytic layer by applying advanced technology to develop and deposit this layer in combination with a specially designed UV-reactor to overcome inherent disadvantages of today's UV-reactors. The new UV-reactor will result in energy savings of up to 30%, keeping in mind that energy costs represent more than 50% of total operating costs. This fact together with increased UV-reaction strength, better efficiency in the presence of colloids/solids will make the new reactor attractive to potential users and widen the use of photo-catalytic detoxification/oxidation reactions. UV-reactors are mainly used in industries which are predominantly controlled by SMEs; in some area by over 90%, such as in surface treatment, textile and food industries. Today , the world market for UV-technology is estimated to be about 0,65 billion EURO, of which a 30% share is taken up by Western Europe

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
