Objective
The proposed Centre of Excellence for Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology RECETOX (Research Centre for Environmental Chemistry and EcoTOXicology), Masaryk university, Brno, Czech Republic is oriented at the field of environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology and risk assessment. The long-term environmental research projects are aimed at understanding the fate of selected organic pollutants in the environment and the study of relationships between environmental contamination by these pollutants and their biological effects. Based on this research and educational activities, the European and regional scientific network will be organised and as a part of network activities the exchange of staff and students will be arranged and thematic conferences and workshops will be prepared. Particular attention will be paid to regional scientific studies focused on persistent, toxic substances.
