Objective
IPG (Institute of Physics of the Globe ) is in charge of a Doctoral School with 20 Masters students and 120 PhD students. The Semisolid of IPG is one of its department devoted to the different feeds of Seismology (Seismic source studies, Earthquake prediction, Seismic topography at different scales ).The Semisolid is providing Research facilities ( computer networks of 80 workstations) including 60 SUN and 20 PCs; permanent and portable seismic and GS networks) to 30 PhD students, 24 full-time researchers and in average 5 post-docs or invited scientists. The fellows will find a favourable and friendly environment in the Semisolid with high level classes and research. Six professors or associate professors of the Semisolid are teaching in the Doctoral School and have training courses in IPG within the DEA (Advance Studies Diploma) of Inner Geophysics (IPG-P7) Paris Val. The training activity of the Semisolid is consequently very high with 30 full-time PhD students The scientific activity of Semisolid is presently focused an instrumental developments (broadband seismometers , stress sensors , ocean floor observatories , satellite monitoring and spatial mission
