Global monitoring for environment and security - global atmospheric observations

Objective

This concerted action will improve the provision of information of scientific and public utility related to global atmospheric observations. It will do so by liaising with expert scientists and interested institutions such as the EC, ESA, national space and research agencies, WMO-GAW and the EEA. Workshops on important issues (efficient operation during the ENVISAT era; long-term observation strategy; more accessible databases) will be arranged and reports produced. The work includes developing a European strategy for global atmospheric observations in GMES, making full use of measurements from the ground-based networks and the current generation of European satellites. Success in addressing these issues will assist Europe in tackling the global problems of ozone depletion and climate change, and will strengthen the scientific basis for the European position in Montreal and Kyoto Protocols.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
