Objective
SCAPE is a concerted action that will give support to the development of a European strategy on soil protection and conservation. This will be based on the multi-functionality of the soil.
It will do this by holding four workshops and a conference that address key questions concerning:
a) how can the goals of sustainability be achieved;
b) what is the appropriate data and monitoring strategy for Europe and what can we learn from best practise. It will support the development of a research agenda for the next decade, guidelines for managing and protecting soil functions, advice on about best practise and proposals for measurement and monitoring.
