Bergen advanced training site in marine ecology

Objective

Fellows will benefit from an interdisciplinary but coherent scientific environment, and:
- World-class expertise in ecological modelling and many of the sub-disciplines involved;
- The wide range of the environmental and ecological expertise gives a unique opportunity to study the complexity of marine environmental science, of high value for the doctoral candidate irrespective of whether the future career is in science, management, industry or education - Continued supervision afterwards to ensure high quality of the publications(s) - State-of-the-art installations for laboratory, field work and modelling. Access to all facilities (experimental, vessels, supercomputers) on equal terms with local staff - Own lab-site and a desk with a networking computer - Flexible degree of integration of thesis work to ongoing projects at UoB - Easy to combine experimental, field and modelling approaches - Wide range of courses in marine sciences - Office for Foreign Students helps with accommodation in one of the students hotels - Friendly-sized town of 230.000 inhabitants, 8% study or work at UoB - Close co-operation with Bergen Marine (IHP-Research Infrastructure) .
