Objective
The objective of the project is the establishment of an European Centre of Excell for environmental and geo-ecological studies regarding the river-sea systems and the related sedimentary environments- "EU-EcoGeoCentre, which will be built on the existing structure of GeoEcoMar. With the joint support of the Romanian Government and the EU Commission the Centre will facilitate:
(1)the continuous formation and training of young scientists for improving the scientific level of the Romanian R&D units,
(2)the enhanced scientific co-operation of Romanian R&D units with West-European research units by networking and improving mobility facilities and
(3)the enhanced long-term co-operative research and monitoring of the River Danube-its Delta-Black Sea system using jointly the local and international human and logistic resources. Geoecomar facilities (research vessels, sc.equipment buildings in Constanta) will be used for the activity of the Euro-EcoGeoCenter.
