Objective
The main objective of this project is to develop a methodology and a measuring portable equipment prototype to assess experimentally the human comfort inside a building by considering the following environmental variables: solar radiation, noise, temperature, humidity and air speed and quality. As a result of this, European society will be provided with an effective instrument for a global diagnosis "on site" of the environmental quality of buildings. Today, more than ever before, quality of life is what European society most values and yet, there are more and more uncontrollable pollution sources, damaging our health and reducing our well -being. One of the most relevant environmental issues is the so-called Sick Building Syndrome (SBS), often responsible for significant rates of work absenteeism. Taking the above-mentioned factors into account, SIMECON project is clearly in line with EU policies on "public health" and "environment" and will contribute to improve working/living conditions in offices, industry and residences.
