Objective
The scientific research concerning the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, although it develops rapidly during the last decades, it usually stays at the vicinity of the laboratories working on it. This happens due to the intrinsic nature of the subject, which depends on the "in situ" testing and the difficulty to communicate the experience, which is an essential characteristic for a good conservation researcher.
The basic target of this proposal is thus to educate 30 postgraduate students of different backgrounds on the recent advances on the conservation and restoration of monuments. The 15 days course proposed in here will be accompanied by a CD- ROM containing the lectures of the course, in order to disseminate this information to all researchers of relevant fields. Based in the evaluation of this course and the CD-ROM, a conference on "How to teach conservation" will be also held.
