Esf marine board

Objective

Following the 1998 review of its initial three years of activities and its organisation, it was decided that the Marine Board should rapidly set up its new structure and prepare a three-year science work plan. These were discussed and approved at the Marine Board meeting on 11-12 September 1999. In accordance with its main objectives, which are forum, strategy, voice and synergy, the main contributions should be:
1. Preparation of major strategic papers on newly emerging areas of marine science of European dimension.
2. Coordination and cooperation between the marine research organisations and, where relevant, the development of common strategies.
