Objective
Protection level dosimetry measurements in the complex mixed neutron and gamma-ray fields encountered around fission reactors, in fusion research, in cosmic-ray dosimetry and in areas where radio nuclide neutron sources are used, have long been regarded as a major problem. Research into neutron spectrometry as a tool for solving this problem has reached a stage where the information now needs to be transferred to the end users in order to improve operational health physics measurements. To achieve this a Workshop on "Neutron Field Spectrometry in Science, Technology and Radiation Protection" has been arranged for 5-8 June 2000in Pisa. The organisation of the meeting is supported by an existing Concerted Action Contract. This present proposal is for founds, not covered by the Concerted Action, to support invited speakers, to at least cover the fees for young scientists to attend, and to provide administrative support at the Workshop site.
