Training Course on 'Off-site Emergency Planning and Response to Nuclear Accidents'

Objective

The project aims at organizing a one-week training course within the E.C. ERPET-programme (European Radiation Protection Education and Training) on the abovementioned subject.
The objective of the course is to give a comprehensive overview of all aspects related to the off-site accident management. The European and international dimension of the subject will be stressed.
The course will serve as a base for more specialized ERPET courses covering selected issues of emergency management. The course will be beneficial to those dealing with (aspects of) nuclear contingency planning and will be open mainly to participants from the E.U. but also from Central and Eastern Europe and a few even further. A group of 35 participants is aimed. The course would take place at SCK/CEN between June and October 2000.
