Objective
Using the most advanced existing experimental facilities and analytical tools the project will evaluate and investigate identified potential problems with symptom oriented emergency operating procedures (EOPs): means and criteria for primary depressurisation during small loss of coolant accident including feed and bleed and behaviour of boron-free slug. The proposed work is based on findings of analytical VVER safety studies, e.g. analyses of proposed Paks NPP EOPs. The project addresses two important relevant VVER issues today, is supported by two VVER utilities, and will produce important publicly available information for both utilities and safety authorities.
