Objective
The aim of the project is to perform an interlaboratory radiochemical analysis campaign on the destructive measurement of radiotoxic and long-lived radionuclides in a primary waste flux from NPP's. An accurate knowledge of the inventory of these radionuclides is a critical parameter for a reliable categorisation of the waste in compliance with the existing disposal site regulations. Therefore it is very important to have access to reliable radiochemical and radioanalytical procedures, which provide results with a high accuracy. The uncertainty of these results is a function of its precision and accuracy. The precision of the result can be determined by an internal control in the laboratory using certified standards.
However, the determination of the accuracy requires specific casks such as:
carrying out repeated analysis using different methodology, analysts and techniques;
control analysis with a reference matrix, or participation in inter-laboratory comparisons.
If each laboratory would have to perform all these tasks by themselves, it could be a time consuming and expensive job. Inter-laboratory comparison studies are a valid and accepted alternative.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
