Reactor neutronic investigations on lr-0 reactor

Objective

Zero power reactor LR-0 available at Nuclear Research Institute Rez is an unique experimental tool which allows to model VVER and also PWR cores in 1:1 scale, to use lattices of hexagonal and square geometry, to measure the basic neutronic core parameters. It is eminently suitable for the verification of neutronic codes, measurements of pin-wise fission density distribution, experiments connected with compact fuel storage (VVER-440 and VVER-1000), investigations of burnable absorber influence on neutronflux distribution, gamma-fields.

Examples of LR-0 capabilities:
- Extension of experimental database and modelling capability with respect to control rod influence on power peaking. A special advantage (already available VVER cores) is expected for VVER-440 modified fuel designs with different absorber and fuel materials;
- Experiments for the purposes of verification and validation of computer codes used for computations of cores with burnable absorber.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
