Development of novel analysis techniques for the search of new states of matter in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions

Objective

I propose to work with the group of Professor Reinhard Stock in IKF, Frankfurter in the analysis of the data of the heavy-ion NA49 experiment which studies central collisions of 208Pb+Pb at 160 GeV/nucleon. I am interested in studying the high energy density state created in these collisions for a brief instant of time and search for the
Quark-Gluon-Plasma that may have been formed. For this I intent to realise the concept of the full event-by-event analysis implementing sophisticated methods for the precise analysis of complex events and developing tools that allow the correlation of multiple observables in the processing of huge amount of data.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
