Experimental testing of some results on levy processes

Objective

The properties of transport under conditions of anomalous diffusion and the connection between anomalous accelerated diffusion and Livy processes have been the main subjects of research in my doctoral work, which has been until now of a theoretical type.
First of all, to complete my doctoral work, I plan to establish a connection with related experimental situations of intermittency in turbulence. I will refer to an experiment on boundary layer turbulence, as well as to data analysis of plasma turbulence experiments. These experiments have been performed in Marseille.
Secondly, I want to apply my knowledge in nonlinear physics and dynamical systems to the modelization of the human immune system. In particular, I will study the problem of dynamical spatially extended balance between specificity and mutation, and the mechanisms for memory in the immune system. This second part of the project will be carried on in my postdoctoral work.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
